Chubu Maintenance is committed
to redefining the boundary
between aesthetic design and
fire safety.

From “wood that burns easily”
to “wood that controls fire.”

Mechanism of Fire-Resistant Timber

An invisible shield within every wood cell.

Our fire-resistant timber is produced by placing natural wood under controlled vacuum and pressure conditions, allowing fire-retardant agents to penetrate deep into the cellular structure.

When exposed to heat:

The fire-retardant reacts instantly, forming an intumescent foaming layer. This layer blocks heat and oxygen, acting as thermal insulation. The surface rapidly carbonizes, preventing flame spread to the interior.

In comparison to ordinary wood, combustible gases continue to be released under heat. Fire spreads rapidly and continuously.

Fire-Resistant Timber has foaming layer + carbonized layer provide triple protection. Even if ignited, the material does not sustain combustion.

Thorough Quality Control

Wood is a living material.

Each piece is carefully inspected and managed by skilled technicians from impregnation and drying to final finishing.

This deliberate, time-intensive process ensures table, long-term fire performance.

Individual inspection of every board 2–3 months of controlled impregnation and drying

Fully integrated in-house production

Strict proprietary quality standards

We never compromise—
because safety depends on consistency

Value Created by Fire-Resistant Natural Wood

By adding fire resistance, natural wood can now be used in high-rise buildings and public spaces where it was once prohibited.

The warmth, texture, and subtle fragrance of wood provide instinctive comfort and psychological well-being, creating spaces that feel safe, calm, and welcoming.

At the same time, natural wood is a renewable resource. Fire-resistant timber enables a sustainable choice that balances safety, design freedom, and environmental responsibility.
