How Fire-Resistant Timber Works

Fire-resistant timber is produced by impregnating fire-retardant agents deep into natural wood using a controlled vacuum-and-pressure process.

By distributing the agents throughout the interior, fire resistance is maintained over time—not confined to the surface—while preserving the wood’s natural characteristics.

When exposed to heat or flames, the impregnated fire-retardant agents activate and the wood surface begins to form a protective char layer.

This char layer blocks heat and oxygen from penetrating the interior, suppressing continuous combustion and preventing fire spread.

As a result, fire safety performance is achieved without sacrificing the appearance or texture of natural wood.
